Coinomi is one of the oldest cryptocurrency wallets still in active development, launched in 2014. It supports over 1,800 assets across 170+ blockchains — one of the broadest multi-chain coverages of any wallet — and is available on iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Coinomi was founded in 2014, initially as a Bitcoin wallet before rapidly expanding to support other chains. The company is registered in the United Kingdom and has maintained continuous operation for over a decade. Coinomi was acquired by Daedalus Capital in 2019 but continues to operate as an independent product.

Security
Coinomi is non-custodial — private keys are stored locally on your device, never on Coinomi's servers. The seed phrase is AES-256 encrypted on-device.
Note: In 2019, a vulnerability was discovered where the seed phrase was briefly sent in plaintext to Google's spell-check API during setup. Coinomi disputed the severity but addressed the issue. This is worth noting for security-conscious users, though it has since been fixed.
Verdict
Coinomi is an excellent choice for users who hold a diverse portfolio across many different blockchains. Its breadth of supported assets is unmatched in the mobile wallet space. The desktop apps are a bonus. For significant holdings, pair with a hardware wallet.
