What are we working on?

The team is launching the Weirdo.Rocks Academy with three inaugural online courses this month. We're refining website details and learning materials to enhance the user experience. Subscribers can expect special launch pricing details next week for courses covering:

  • Location-independent entrepreneurship
  • Cryptocurrency basics
  • Remote work sustainability

Crypto Update

Sui Mainnet Launch

The layer-1 blockchain project Sui is launching its mainnet and $SUI token on May 3rd, promising instant settlement, high throughput, low latency, and cost efficiency.

Helium Migration

The crypto-wireless network Helium completed its migration to Solana, unlocking new use cases. Leadership is considering an NFT mint tied to this significant transition.

Travel Update

Currently in Pattaya, Thailand. A useful transportation tip for getting around: Baht Buses (Songthaews) — dark blue open-sided pickup trucks — offer affordable city transit at 10 Baht, operating 24 hours daily. Passengers wave palm-downward to hail rides and press buzzers to exit anywhere along routes.

I am currently listening

Kevin Kelly's appearance on a podcast discussing "Excellent Advice for Living, Universal AI Assistants, Time Machines, and The Power of Fully Becoming Yourself (#669)."

I am currently watching

Netflix's The Diplomat — a geopolitical drama starring Keri Russell as ambassador Kate Wyler navigating career challenges and secret White House evaluations.

Tool of the week

LangChain is a Python/JavaScript framework for developing language model-powered applications. It connects language models to external data sources, enabling autonomous agents, chatbots, question-answering systems, and code understanding capabilities. Currently experimenting with private knowledge databases using this tool.

Something to think about

Two insights from James Clear:

  • "Whoever has the most fun wins."
  • Time management distinction: time assets (choices saving future time) versus time debts (choices requiring future repayment).

A question to ask yourself

Who are the few people that deliver the majority of happiness in your life? Can you schedule time with one of them today?

Tips and Tricks

Kevin Kelly's philosophy: "Don't aim to be the best. Be the only."
